Within the last years, Berlin has become one of the most important cultural metropolises and is now the largest gallery location in Europe. The art scene of the city is characterized by its great variety and its high dynamics. This makes Berlin one of the most interesting cities worldwide for contemporary art and new trends.
Its prominent location in the city centre between the Museum Island and the Brandenburg Gate, near the Schiffbauerdamm and directly opposite to the Friedrichstadtpalast, let the Art Center offer a perfect surrounding for successful public presentations.
Since its opening in June 9th, 2005 the Art Center has become part of Berlin’s excellent reputation as a city for art and culture. Since that day, thousands of people have been visiting our house and they have seen exhibitions of different genres, from sculpture, design, paintings, and photography on to installations, video art, sound art, interactive and kinetic art, and special exhibitions with reference to different themes. The display of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions attracted more than 50.000 visitors by itself.
The Art Center is now established as an outstanding forum for contemporary art.
The light-flooded atrium and its impressive 10 m wide and 23 m high waterfall wall are the trademarks of the building.
A restaurant with bar and lounge in the right wing on the ground floor offers everything to end the visit at the Art Center with a culinary treat.
